Tigress  Krutika died of ill health at the Tyavarekoppa Lion and Tiger Safari near Shivamogga on Sunday. The tigress was 19 and a half years old.

Said to be the oldest tigress in Tyavarekoppa Safari, Krutika had outlived Machli, one of India's most photographed and famous tigers, which passed away at 19, last week.

Machli had been the star attraction at Ranthambore National Park, a popular tourist destination in north-western India. Krutika had given birth to eight cubs and was the main attraction at Tyavarekoppa. DySP Shivashakar visited the zoo and a mahazar was conducted.
