District Secretary Tushar Girinath and Deputy Commissioner K G Shantaram on Wednesday caught a man, who was planning to conduct unauthorised blood screening of children at Tulasigeri school in the taluk, and handed him to police.

The officers, during their surprise visit to the school, found that Kashinath Sharanayya Patri, a native of Muddebihal, had organised a blood testing camp at the school.

The organiser had fixed a fee for the same.

Upon questioning, the officers found that Kashinath had not taken due permission from the district health officer or the DDPI. The deputy commissioner called Kaladagi police and handed Patri to them.

The jurisdictional police have booked Patri based on the complaint lodged by BEO Doddabasappa Neeralkeri.

DDPI M R Kamakshi, following the instruction of the DC, has suspended headmaster C A Sannappanavar.
