Undertrial commits suicide at Davanagere jail

Jail authorities said that the undertrial Ningaraj was suffering from acute depression.

An undertrial who was lodged at the Davanagere jail attempted suicide by jumping off a coconut tree and later succumbed to injuries at the district hospital on Tuesday.

Jail authorities said that the undertrial Ningaraj was suffering from acute depression. He hails from Harappanahalli.

Ningaraj was incarcerated in connection with murder and was undergoing trial for it.
