They alleged that the house warming ceremony of a leader from the village is to be held in near future. Therefore, a makeshift road is being constructed, passing through the playground. The officials are tight lipped as the person is a Congress worker and a close aide of the local MLA, they complained.

The 18 gunta gomala land is next to the school and is being used as the playground, the villagers said.

Police arrived at the spot and controlled the tense situation. The work was halted after the protest.

“The land was fenced by some people towards the playground earlier. As the Tahsildar had ordered to maintain the status quo, the fence was cleared. When soil was dumped by some on Thursday, the authorities cleared the soil as per the order and not for construction of the road. Mistaking the same, some people conducted the protest”, an official said.
