Villagers of Uppara Basavanahalli, near Tarikere town, protesting against the government’s apathy to construct a railway bridge have decided to boycott the upcoming Lok Sabha and Town Municipal Council elections.

The villagers have even erected a banner on Kodicamp Circle - Uppara Basavanahalli road declaring that they have decided to boycott the elections.

The villagers said for the past 40 years they were demanding an under-bridge at the railway track passing through the village.
