“The population of our community is less. Contractor Sunil Panchal, who belongs to our community, ended his life due to harassment from minister Priyank Kharge’s associates. Therefore, the minister should tender his resignation and hand over the case to the CBI. The accused should be arrested and given severe punishment. A compensation of Rs 1 crore should be given to Sachin’s family”, the protesters demanded.

‘Politically motivated’
Meanwhile, Gurmatkal Yadgir Block Congress committee president Krishna Chapetla said that charges against minister Priyank Kharge and demand for his resignation were politically motivated.
Addressing a press conference in Gurmatkal on Tuesday, he said, the BJP leaders are unnecessarily dragging the name of the minister into the suicide case even though his name is not mentioned in the death note.
“As soon as the allegations surfaced, Priyank Kharge wrote to the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister requesting a high-level investigation into the Sachin suicide case. Therefore, there is no need for Kharge to resign.
“The BJP leaders had levelled charges against the minister when the party candidate from Chittapur had met with an accident some time back”, he said.
Block Congress Committee’s Kisan wing president Anand Boyin, Municipal Council members Khaja Mainoddin, Fayaz Ahmed, Manik Mukudi, Chand Pasha, Sabanna Hoogar, Abdul Khadir, Bhimashappa Shivarang, Ravi M T Palli and Balappa Kakalwar were present.
