Visiting hours at Sringeri temple extended

Earlier, devotees were allowed to visit the temple between 7 am and 1.30 pm in the morning. The schedule has been modified and now the devotees can have darshana between 6 am and 2 pm. The visiting hours in the evening, which was between 5 pm and 8 pm earlier, has been modified from 4 pm to 9.15 pm.

The number of devotees who throng to the temple has been increased considerably. In 2008-09, about 30 lakh devotees had visited the temple, which has increased to 45 lakh in 2009-10. The Temple Administrative Board stated in a press release that the visiting hours have been extended in the wake of increase in the number of devotees.
