The inflow to Harangi reservoir has increased following heavy rain in the catchment area in Kodagu. Water is only 20 foot below the maximum level of the reservoir.

On Tuesday noon, 2,838.66 foot water was collected in the dam which has a capacity of 2,859 foot.

About 4.02 tmcft water has been collected in the dam so far, Harangi reservoir Assistant Engineer Nagaraju said.

As the rain has started in the first week of June itself, the reservoir is all set to be filled soon.

Last year, the reservoir was full to its capacity on July 10, owing to the delay in monsoons. This year, the water is approaching close to the maximum level, despite emptying the reservoir for repair.

Farmers are very happy and they have started agricultural activities in the catchment areas of the dam.
