The residents alleged that they had brought the acute water shortage in the village to the notice of the officers at the Janaspandana, held in Motakapalli last month. However, no action has been taken so far and instead the problem has aggravated further.
The problem could be solved by providing power supply to the borewell sunk in the village recently. However, repeated pleas made to Mothakapalli Gram Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat authorities have went in vain, they complained. The distraught residents sought to repair the hand pumps in the village. They also sought supply of water by tankers and maintenance of borewells meant for supplying drinking water and submitted a memorandum to the tahsildar, Harishilpa, who assured of issuing necessary direction to the authorities concerned.
