He called upon the students of the Government School in Kurubarapete here to avail of the facilities provided by the Government and excel in their studies. “Students should be goal-oriented and should not get distracted from their studies,” he said.

Block Education Officer K S Nagarajagowda presided over the meeting while District Sarva Shikshana Abhiyaan deputy co-ordinating officer K M Jayaramreddy, Primary School Teachers’ Association district unit General Secretary Venkatashivappa and Sarva Shikshana Abhiyaan Block Resource Person G Srinivas, SDMC president B Ratnamma, Assistant Teacher S Shashikala, Narayanamma and Head Master D K Pillirappa were present.

In Gandhinagar
On a similar occasion, students of the Government Higher Primary School in Gandhinagar were given uniforms and textbooks. Town Municipality Vice President V K Rajesh, who inaugurated the   ‘Prarambhotsava’ programme, said 50 desks will be given to the school from the municipality and compound will also be built soon.  TMC member Somashekhar, Satish, Murthy, Pandit, Munivenkatappa and Anjinappa were present.

Anganwadi opened
An anganwadi centre was opened at Tamaka on the outskirts of Kolar on Monday.  
Legislator R Vartur Prakash, inaugurating the centre said the kids should be brought up with care as they make future of society. PLD Bank Director Jambhapur Venkataram and anganwadi staff were present.
