Bengaluru: Basavaraj Rayareddi, economic advisor to CM Siddaramaiah, on Monday, appealed to the union government to ‘bomb Pakistan’ and punish terrorists without delay.
Rayareddi’s call for immediate military action against Pakistan comes in the wake of BJP leaders lashing out at Siddaramaiah for his remarks that war should be considered only as a last resort.
Addressing a press conference at Vidhana Soudha, Rayareddi said the perpetrators were ‘worse than animals’ and demanded immediate retaliation.
Appealing to the union government to increase the defence budget to Rs 12 lakh crore and fill 1.45 lakh vacancies in the military, he said it should seek international support to declare Pakistan a terrorist state at the international court of justice.
“I am surprised, why isn’t the central government waging war yet? Pakistanis are dirty fellows. Who is holding you back? Bomb them tomorrow,” he said.
‘Call spl session of Parliament'
The CM’s advisor appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Kashmir to assess the situation firsthand and urged him to convene a special session of Parliament to deliberate on national security and measures against Pakistan.
He slammed the BJP for ‘twisting the CM’s words’ and appealed for national unity in the face of crisis.
