Chikkamagaluru: The existing MLAs in Congress party themselves do not have any grants. What will they do by taking MLAs from other parties, mocked BJP state president B Y Vijayendra.
Speaking to the media in Chikkamagaluru on Friday, he responded to minister Zamir Ahmed's statement, and said that the state government's development is zero despite having 138 MLAs.
"The ruling party MLAs themselves have been openly expressing their displeasure against the government over non-availability of grants, saying that they are not able to walk in their constituencies with their heads held high.
"Given the situation, what is the use of taking in legislators from other parties for Congress?, Vijayendra asked.
He further said that people are looking forward to the state budget on March 7. The Congress government has failed to stand up to people's expectations. Instead of fulfilling their assurances given in their manifesto, they are landing people in an abyss.
"The government departments are not able to pay their electricity bills. Energy Minister K J George has himself admitted that Rs 6,000 crore electricity bills are due by the government. Rs 7,000 crore bills are pending for payment to KSRTC towards Shakti scheme", he pointed out.
To a query he said that the investigating court has summoned B S Yediyurappa as per the High Court directions. There is no setback and it is a course of law. It will be faced through law itself, he added.
