Belagavi: Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti said that Women and Child Welfare Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar and BJP MLC C T Ravi have submitted videos in favour of themselves regarding the remarks made by them against each other in the Legislative Council on December 19, during the winter session of the state legislature held at Suvarna Vidhan Soudha. "We need to check their authenticity as official audio and videos of the house gets switched off after the house gets adjourned," he added.
Horatti told reporters on the sidelines of a programme here on Saturday evening that earlier Ravi had submitted a video, but it was one sided. Hebbalkar submitted the video in a pen drive on Friday. "We shall verify both the videos and if need arises we shall send them to the FSL for analysis. Both the videos have been sourced by them from other sources as official audio and video of the house were switched off after the house was adjourned and they weren’t official videos," he said.
He further said, "complaint had been given by both of them to me on December 19, and the cases have been closed. We do not see both of them coming for amicable settlement as the issue has been blown up and has taken political turn. Both Congress and BJP were raking it up and it has also reached all legislatures across the country."
Horatti said, "we have not allowed CID to conduct panchanama in the legislative council as the session has been adjourned and the house stands locked. Incidents like assault have not taken place in the house and CID officials need to convince me about the panchanama and if myself was satisfied, their demand could be considered."
"We also want to take care that diagnity of a woman was not affected. Its for the first time in the history that such incident has been reported," he stated.
