Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has said that he would retire from politics if he was not able to waive farm loans.

Addressing a gathering in Sitapura village of Pandavapura taluk on Friday, the chief minister said that he had been working on loan waiver scheme for the past seven months and blamed the media of trying to create "distrust" between him and the people.

"I have been saying that it is not possible to address all the issues of farmres overnight. The loan waiver scheme will be launched at Doddaballapur and Sedam on Saturday. The officials will deliver debt-free certificates at the doorsteps of farmers," he said.
