Mangaluru: District prison authorities in Mangaluru have filed a case against a woman for bringing suspicious objects concealed inside food packets while visiting the jail.

In a complaint, Sharanabasappa, the jail superintendent stated that Ramsoona S, arrived at the jail to meet an undertrial prisoner Mohammad Askar.

She had carried five packets of snacks to be given to Askar. The KSISF staff at the jail, while checking the snack packets, found suspicious substance in the form of powder resembling MDMA, covered in aluminium foil inside them.

Ramsoona informed officers that Askar had asked her to collect the packets from one Hussain from Hosangady. Accordingly, she collected the packets and brought them to him.

Based on the complaint, the Barke police have registered a case.
