As the Assembly elections are fast approaching, the candidates on the poll fray are trying every possible way to impress the voters.
Perhaps, it would be quite right to state ‘behind a candidate on the poll fray, there is his wife canvassing for him’.
Shidlaghatta, Malur and Bagepalli have brigades of women canvassing for their husbands in the poll fray.
Assuring voters
In Shidlaghatta, the JD(S) candidate M Rajanna has his wife, Zilla Panchayat member Shivaleela canvassing for him. “Elect us, we assure development,” Shivaleela requests the voters.
Chandrika, wife of BJP candidate J V Sadashiva, is going in full throttle to impress voters. She, however using a slight different trick to influence them, “All of you know that my father-in-law G Venkatappa was an honest leader, we promise to follow his legacy” she requests.
Malini Gowda is on the streets canvassing on behalf of her husband, KJP candidate D R Shivakumar Gowda. Malini requests voters to recognise the social service done by her husband and support him.
In Malur, ignoring the scorching sun, Aridra Gowda, with women party workers visits each house seeking support for her husband, JD(S) candidate K S Manjunath Gowda.
Women power
Independent Candidate G E Ramegowda has his wife Rashmi Ramegowda canvassing for him. However, she is trying to influence the ‘Sthree Shakti’ members in rural belt. She is requesting the public to vote considering the social services he has been doing for the last nine years.
Independent candidate SN Subbareddy too has his wife R Sheela campaigning for him in Bagepalli. She said, “Recognising his stature and social service, leaders and workers of different political parties are supporting him” and added that she is confident about his victory.
