Women SHGs record savings of Rs 50 lakh

The 1,574 members of the Women’s Self Help Groups, under the aegis of Farmers Development Association, have made an achievement by saving an amount of total Rs 50 lakh, informed Honorary President of the Farmers Development Association D M Liyakhat.

A total of 410 women members from Doddaballapur taluk have saved an amount of Rs 1,44,253, while, 731 women members from Chikkaballapur taluk have saved an amount of   1,6,96,076 and 433 women members from Devanahalli taluk have saved an amount of Rs 40,69,756, said the honorary president, in a press release issued here on Monday.

Self-employment
On behalf of the Self Help Groups, the women members were provided training in various employment sectors.
The members of the self-help groups, after undergoing the training, took loans from the Banks and began their own ventures. Thus, they were able to save so much of amount, Liyakhat informed.
