New Delhi: Defending the expulsion of Vijayapura MLA and former Union Minister Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, Shivamogga Lok Sabha member B Y Raghavendra on Thursday said that this should be a lesson to all who speak against the party leaders in public forum.

“For all BJP workers, the party is the mother and all should abide by the party’s decision. Yatnal, being the senior most leader, violated the party discipline,” Raghavendra, brother of state unit president B Y Vijayendra, told media persons here.

"For the past several months, Yatnal has been attacking former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and his family members for no reason. The party workers are upset. Now the party decided to expel him. This should be a lesson for all those who violate party discipline", he said.
