Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (KPYCC) members on Wednesday filed a complaint against the BJP MP from Mysore-Kodagu Pratap Simha for likening Delhi University student Gurmehar Kaur, daughter of a Kargil war martyr, to fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
The complaint was lodged at the High Grounds police station here. In the complaint, Umesh Boregowda, KPYCC general secretary, said the statements made by Simha are insensitive and an insult to martyrs. The High Grounds police have taken up a complaint and sent it to the legal cell of their department for an opinion, based on which action would be taken, said a senior police officer.
