A 22-year-old youth stabbed a girl and later attempted to kill himself by slitting his throat at Bagambila near Deralakatte on Friday.
According to Commissioner of Police Sandeep Patil, the injured youth Sushanth and Diksha (20) have been shifted to a hospital for treatment.
The police suspect that Sushant was a jilted lover.
