ZP members accuse Dr Yathindra, Sunil Bose of protocol violation

The JD(S) and the BJP Zilla Panchayat members, on Wednesday, took severe exception to Chief Minister Siddaramaia's son Dr Yathindra and District in-charge Minister H C Mahadevappa's son Sunil Bose for violating protocol during government functions.

During the ZP general meeting at the ZP auditorium, here, Mangala Somashekar said, the officials have printed the names of Dr Yathindra and Sunil Bose in invitations for government programmes. "But, the names of ZP members are missing. While Dr Yathindra is chairman of Varuna Assembly constituency Housing Programmes Awareness Committee, Sunil Bose is chairman of the T Narsipur Assembly Constituency Awareness Committee," she pointed out.

Member Sadananda alleged that MP R Dhruvanarayan and Dr Yathindra have inaugurated several development programmes under Varuna Assembly segment. "Though the issue was brought to the notice of the CEO, he has failed to act," he said.

Similarly, Kadkola ZP member Roopa alleged that the officials did not invite her to a programme scheduled at her constituency. Venkataswamy, representing H D Kote ZP constituency, alleged violation of protocol in H D Kote.

Pushpa Amarnath said, every year, the officials establish a control room to address the issues related to drinking water, but, this time, no control room has been set up. She urged the authorities to take immediate measures.

ZP Chief Executive Officer (CEO) P Shivashankar directed Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Executive Engineer Venkatesh to take measures immediately.

Meeting delayed

The general meeting that was scheduled for 11 am was delayed by one-and-a-half hours. It commenced at 12.45 pm due to difference of opinion among the ruling party members.
