External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said on Wednesday that India will not attend the Saarc summit in Pakistan unless it stops sponsoring terror activities.

“We are not responding to the invitation for the summit,” she said in a rebuff to Pakistan a day after Islamabad said it would invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the summit.

She also said the Kartarpur corridor initiative was not connected with the dialogue process with Pakistan.

Sushma said talks can start the moment Islamabad stops terror activities in India. Reiterating India’s stand, she said talks and terror cannot go together.

“India has been asking for a corridor, which will facilitate visa-free travel of Indian pilgrims to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur. And I am happy that Pakistan has, for the first time, responded positively,” she said.
