The demand by a section to remove K Sudhakaran from the post of Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee  (KPCC) president, bickering about the chief minister's face if the party comes to power in 2026, and differences between V D Satheesan and Sudhakaran are some of the issues on the agenda.

Differences between Sudharkaran and Satheesan have been playing out in the open for a while now.

Satheesan is believed to have an edge over Sudhakaran and he led the party in the Lok Sabha polls as well as the recent assembly bypolls, in which the party performed well. Hence, there is a demand to replace Sudhakaran with someone who can work in tandem with Satheesan.

During a meeting on Sunday, some senior leaders expressed their displeasure over Satheesan taking unilateral decisions.

Congress senior MLA and former minister A P Anilkumar is said have to strongly opposed Satheesan's suggestions to have a focused approach at many seats where the party has high hopes of doing well.

Anilkumar reportedly accused Satheesan of making such decisions without proper discussion in party forums.
Veteran leader A K Antony has openly cautioned against bickering on the future chief minister's face, adding the priority should be to win the election.
