Thiruvananthapuram: The green initiatives and sustainable waste management activities of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has been recognised at the recently held 'Vruthi' clean Kerala conclave in Thiruvananthapuram.

Kerala local self government minister M B Rajesh presented the honour.

A statement from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham said that a host of initiatives like the zero waste projects, recycling projects, use of reusable sanitary pads and awareness programmes were considered for the honour. The initiatives that were displayed at the conclave also received much attention.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham had received honours at district and panchayat levels for waste management initiatives earlier too.
