CPI(M) workers waved black flags at Priyanka while she was proceeding to Wayanad from Kannur airport. They shouted slogans accusing that the MP was visiting the constituency only in case of any issues.

Priyanka visited the homes of plantation worker Radha who was killed in tiger's attack and Congress district vice president M N Vijayan, who ended his life by suicide along with his son.

She assured Radha's family all possible help and also to take up man-animal conflict issues with authorities concerned.

Priyanka's visit to Vijayan's home assumed political significance as a Congress MLA from the district I C Balakrishnan and Congress district committee president N D Appachan are accused in the suicide abetment case of Vijayan and his son. They were arrested and released on bail.

Priyanka was learnt to have enquired about the financial crisis suffered by Vijayan allegedly due to malpractice by Congress MLA Balakrishnan and others in connection with appointments to the cooperative banks under the party's control.

Priyanka's last visit to Wayanad was on December 1 and 2 soon after she was elected to the Lok Sabha as successor of her brother and leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi.
