Thiruvananthapuram: The Crime Branch of the Kerala police will probe the CSR fund scam that involved cheating of hundreds of persons by offering two-wheelers and various gadgets at half price through various NGOs by utilising CSR funds of companies.

As many as 34 cases were registered across the state so far in connection with the scam.

Retired judge of Kerala High Court Justice C N Ramachandran Nair is one of the accused.

Ananthu Krishnan, 26, of Idukki district and Sri Sathya Sai Orphanage Trust executive director K N Ananda Kumar are the key accused in the cases.

A Crime Branch team led by SP M J Sojan will probe the cases.

The police investigation so far revealed that the National NGO confederation formed by the key accused Ananthu Krishnan so far did not get any CSR funds and it managed to distribute vehicles and gadgets to many by operating on a money chain model.

The police also unearthed wealth amassed by him over the last few years and also evidence of his lavish lifestyle. He had also given funds to political parties.
