A Velappan Nair, who represents the state government in the governing body, was learnt to have raised the need to take a decision on the matter citing an earlier directive of the Supreme Court asking the governing body to take a call on the matter.

It was learnt that other members of the body, which includes representatives of the erstwhile Travanacore royal family and the centre suggested that the temple tantri's opinion was crucial on the matter. Since the trantri was not present at Thursday's meeting the matter was put on hold.

When contacted by DH, Velappan Nair refused to comment on the matter.

While other five vaults of the temple were opened and the presence of priceless treasures like jewels and precious stones were found, the Travancore royal family was opposing the opening of vault - B citing that it was against the customs.
