While a list of beneficiaries to provide houses in the first phase was released the other day, on Sunday a special cabinet meeting reviewed the rehabilitation plan.

Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan made a presentation on the rehabilitation plan, including the proposed townships, at a special cabinet meeting on Sunday. The meeting discussed measures to make use of the support offered by various states, including Karnataka government, and various private parties and NGO's for the rehabilitation.

While there were widespread complaints regarding the draft list of 388 families for the first phase rehabilitation released by the government, revenue minister K Rajan said that all clerical errors will be rectified after considering the grievances of the people.

The landslide survivors alleged that many genuine beneficiaries were not included in the last and there were many duplicate entries.
