While the minor student's reaction had raised many eyebrows, the school was also widely criticised for not trying to correct the student.

State education minister V Sivankutty has ordered a probe into the incident.

The incident took place on January 17. A teacher seized the mobile phone from the student as students are not allowed to bring mobile phones to school. The student was later summoned to the principal's room and told to bring his parents to collect the phone. Provoked at it the student shouted at the principal and teacher and warned that the teacher would be killed.

One of the teachers recorded the incident on mobile phone and sent it to school management and the student's parents.

The school authorities maintain that they did not post the video on social media.

The school authorities also decided not to take any action against the student. He will be subjected to counselling. The student was also learnt to have tendered an apology to the school authorities.
