Thiruvananthapuram: A 60 year old man was arrested in Kochi for making derogatory social media posts against popular actor Honey Rose.

The Kochi city police on Sunday registered a case against 30 persons on the basis of a complaint filed by the actor. Shaji, who hails from Kumabalam on the suburbs of Kochi, was held on Monday.

Kochi central police station inspector Anish Joy said that efforts to identify and track others were progressing. The one arrested person was produced before court and remanded.

The actor made a social media post alleging that one person was frequently defaming her. The said person insulted her during an event and thereafter she stopped attending any functions with him. Thereafter the man started defaming and insulting her. She also warned of initiating legal action against him. She didn't reveal the person's identity.

The derogatory comments against her were posted as comments to the said social media post.

Subsequently she filed a police complaint and a case was registered under various non bailable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Information Technology act for sexual harassment.
