In a devastating incident, a 15-year-old boy from Kochi in Kerala had died by suicide last month allegedly due to torture from his classmates at Global Public School. He jumped from the 26th floor of his flat in Kochi on January 15.
Seeking justice for Mihir, his uncle Musthafa P C, who is the CEO of ID Fresh Foods, posted on Instagram about the case.
Musthafa expressed his grief and said Mihir was his nephew, and a best friend to his son. During his kindergarten days, Mihir lived with him in Bengaluru, the post read.
"After his death, we received some shocking screenshots/proofs from his friends. Mihir was subjected to brutal ragging, bullying, and physical assault by a gang of students at his school and in the school bus," Musthafa wrote.
Further explaining the torture that Mihir had to suffer, Musthafa added that he was "beaten, verbally abused, and forced to endure unimaginable humiliation even on his last day. He was forcibly taken to the washroom, made to lick a toilet seat, and had his head pushed into the toilet while it was flushed. After this humiliating experience, they used to call him 'poopyhead'."
Musthafa let out some chilling details about the incident after seeing the chat screenshots (of the classmates) and said even after his death, the cruelty did not end.
"They messaged 'fxxk nxxga he actually died' and celebrated his death," he wrote.
Musthafa, seeking justice for Mihir requested for "systematic changes to be made to ensure no other child suffers like Mihir did."
The incident received national attention with Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra condemning it. "No child should endure what Mihir faced. Bullying isn’t harmless; it destroys lives. Parents must teach kindness, love, empathy, and the courage to speak up," Rahul said in a social media post.
