Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is reportedly going to the US for a health check-up.
The travel of Vijayan has invited criticisms from various quarters, including the opposition Congress activists, as the state is witnessing a major row over the flaws in the state health sector.
According to a statement from the Chief Minister's office, the Chief Minister will be going to the US on Saturday for follow-up health reviews. He will be in the US for around ten days.
Earlier also the Chief Minister had gone for treatment and further review at Mayo Clinic in the US. The Chief Minister's charge was not given to any other ministers then. Instead he used to hold online meetings.
Meanwhile, Vijayan said in a social media post that steps would be taken to ensure that unfortunate incidents like the death of a woman following a hospital building collapse did not happen again.
