A magistrate court in Kochi rejected his bail plea and sent the businessman to a 14-day judicial remand.

Chemmanur was taken into custody from Wayanad on Wednesday morning in a swift move by the Kochi city police after registering a case against him on Tuesday evening on the basis of Rose's petition. Section 75 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for sexual harassment was invoked against him.

Chemmanur allegedly made obscene comments against Rose at some functions as well as on online channels.

After Rose filed a police complaint, Chemmanur tried to justify that his comments were being misinterpreted.

Chemmanur often faced criticism for making obscene remarks at inaugural functions and through his promotional videos.
