Thiruvananthapuram: A minor student was injured allegedly in ragging at a higher secondary school at Wayanad in Kerala.
Shayaz, a 16-year-old, a plus-one student at government higher secondary school at Kaniyambetta near Kalpetta in Wayanad was hospitalised with injuries.
The Kambalakkad police registered a case on the basis of the student's statement. His injuries were reported to be minor.
Of late, Kerala witnessed many brutal ragging incidents, including the death of veterinary science student Sidharthan at Wayanad last year.
Shayaz, who joined the school recently, said that a group of plus-two students assaulted him for not shaving his moustache. The senior asked him to shave his beard and moustache. He only shaved his beard. Subsequently he was brutally assaulted.
He was admitted to the government taluk hospital.
