The other day Noufal fulfilled his wife's wish. But unfortunately neither Sajna nor any other members of the family are there to share the joy as all of them were killed in the devastating landslide that struck Mundakkai-Chooralmala regions.

Noufal named his restaurant and bakery 'July 30', the day on which the landslide occurred. Among the over 300 killed in the landslide also included the eleven members of Noufal's family, including his wife, three children, parents and siblings.

Noufal was in Oman when the landslide occurred. On rushing to the spot, what he saw was rubble in the place of his house at Mundakkai.

"There is no other suitable name than July 30 for my shop," Noufal told DH.

Congress MLA of Kalpetta, T Siddique, shared Noufal's efforts on social media to showcase how people were trying to return to normal life.

Noufal was supported by the Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen to set up the new venture.
