The deceased, identified as Jacob Thomas, a native of Pathanamthitta district, was suspected to have jumped from his flat at Kanjikuzhi to end life.

Thomas, who was working with a Kochi-based IT firm over the last few months, had reportedly told his parents about work pressure. He was also said to have sent a video message to his parents describing said work pressure.

The local police have registered a case for unnatural death and have started an investigation.

The incident happened a day after shocking videos came out showcasing the inhumane torture that employees of a marketing firm were allegedly facing from higher ups for not achieving targets

Last year, the death of 26-year old Malayali chartered accountant Anna Sebastian, who was working with a leading IT service firm, had triggered a row with her parents alleging work pressure as the reason for the young girl's death.
