The Kerala Government has announced financial assistance of Rs. 25 lakhs to the family of Vasantha Kumar V V, the CRPF personnel from Wayanad district in Kerala, who was martyred in the Pulwama terror strike.

The State Cabinet that met on Tuesday also decided to take care of the entire family. Vasantha Kumar's wife Sheena's temporary job as an assistant at Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University at Pookode in Wayanad district will be regularised. The government will bear the education expenses of their two children. Financial assistance will be given to the family for constructing a house also, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told reporters.

Vijayan is also likely to visit Vasantha Kumar's family this week itself.
