Kerala High Court has ordered a CBI probe into the mysterious missing of a 22-year-old woman from Pathanamthitta district in Kerala three years ago as various teams of state police who investigated the case so far could not unravel the mystery.

Jesna Maria James, who was a second-year degree student, went missing on March 22, 2018, after she left home, in Vechoochira in Pathanamthitta district, for her aunt’s house.

Various teams of Kerala police were investigating the case and there were also reports that she was spotted in various parts of Kerala. Some senior police officers even stated that the probe was in advanced stages. But the cops seemed to be clueless. Even cash rewards announced for informers about the woman did not yield any result.

Jesna’s brother, Jaice, had approached the court seeking a CBI probe to trace his sister, saying that the family had lost confidence in the Kerala police. The Kerala Students’ Union also moved the court seeking a CBI probe and considering these, the High Court order a CBI probe. Thiruvananthapuram unit of CBI was entrusted with the probe.

Various online forums seeking justice for the woman had also come up.
