One more case of monkeypox was reported in Kerala on Tuesday, taking the state's total tally to five.

Kerala Health Minister Veena George said that a Malappuram native, who arrived from the UAE, has tested positive for the viral disease.

It is the seventh monkeypox case reported in the country. One person infected with the disease died in the state on Saturday. All the five cases reported in Kerala were people who arrived from the UAE.

The minister said that the 30-year-old who came down from UAE on July 27, through Kozhikode international airport, had now tested positive. He has been admitted to a hospital in Malappuram. His father, mother and two friends were kept under surveillance.

The first monkeypox-infected person in Kerala has been discharged.The condition of all the infected people are stable.
