Khudai Khidmatgar, the organisation founded by Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan during independence struggle, will start a helpline to guide minority youth to peace and harmony. The helpline will be active for 3 days every week.

The helpline at Hyderabad will start on Wednesday, at Chennai on October 8, Bangalore (Oct 9) and Pune (Oct 11).

The social organisation was revived in 2011 by some motivated youth under the leadership of Faisal Khan.  It believes in secularism and democracy. It has been active in riot affected and communally sensitive areas.

“In this era of social media youth particularly become easy targets for propaganda of hate. It has become easy to radicalise and communalise ignorant masses for realisation of narrow political goals in the name of religion be it organisations like ISIS or any Sena,”  Khan said.
“Emotional blackmail in name of religion prompts the young generation to disrespect and hurt each other’s religious sentiments and at times resorting to extreme violence,” he added.
