The Army said Lieutenant Colonel Bhanu Pratap Singh and Lance Dafadar Daljeet Singh sustained critical injuries in the accident and later succumbed. The incident occurred while they were on duty in the strategically sensitive region close to the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

The bodies of the two personnel are being sent to their respective hometowns with full military honors. An investigation has been initiated to ascertain the exact cause of the accident, officials said.

This tragedy underscores the risks soldiers face even outside combat, especially in treacherous terrains like Ladakh, where natural hazards pose constant dangers.
