Hot on the heels of IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman's return to India after a 60-hour-capture by Pakistan, leaders from across both BJP and the opposition took to Twitter to congratulate him on his return.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Abhinandan on his return, saying the nation is proud of his exemplary courage.

Among those tweeting congratulations to Abhinandan's return were AAP chief and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, who posted a simple message to his return.

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had a slightly more elaborate message to provide for the returning Abhinandan.

CPI(M) head and Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan also put a simple message for the event.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh also put a simple message congratulating Abhinandan.
