Over 350 women fencers participate in Khelo India fencing league

Over 350 women fencers will vie for the honours in the first Khelo India Women's Fencing League and ranking tournament which is being played at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium here.

The four-day tournament (July 25-29) is organised by the Fencing Association of India under the aegis of Sports Authority of India & Khelo India.

On the sidelines of the women's league, the men's ranking tournament will also be conducted which will see more than 500 fencers participating. The competition will be conducted in Cadet, Juniour and Senior categories in the disciplines of Epee, Foil & Sabre.

Six shot dead at Mexican drug rehab center

Six people were shot dead at a drug rehabilitation center near the western Mexican city of Guadalajara, authorities said Monday.

Five men and one woman were killed in the late Sunday attack in the suburb of San Pedro Tlaquepaque, the Jalisco state prosecutor's office said.

The region is one of the most violent in Mexico due to turf wars between rival gangs including the powerful Jalisco New Generation Cartel.

Several dead in Canadian mass shooting

Several people were killed in a mass shooting early on Monday in the Canadian province of British Columbia, local media reported.

Police had earlier issued an emergency alert for multiple shootings in the city of Langley and asked residents to stay alert and away from the area of the incident.

Rajasthan BJP chief's yatra in honour of Prez Draupadi Murmu concludes

BJP's two-day 'Vagad Janjati Gaurav Yatra', which was carried out to celebrate the elevation of Draupadi Murmu -- a tribal woman -- to the highest constitutional post in the country, culminated on Monday.

The 41-km long 'yatra' (journey) began from the famous Tripura Sundari temple in Banswara on Sunday and culminated at Beneshwar Dham in the Dungarpur district, a holy place for the tribal community.

The yatra was taken out by the party's state president Satish Poonia with the participation of local BJP leaders and workers.

Delhi LG Vinai K Saxena reviewed the Monkeypox situation in Delhi along with health officials. "Was apprised of preparedness in terms of medical services, hospital infrastructure, tracing, testing, surveillance & clinical mgmt," he tweeted.
