In what appears to be a reel sequence playing out in real life, smugglers used a river water flow to shift wooden logs from Sagar district to a forest area in Narsinghpur district of Madhya Pradesh. A video of the floating wooden logs has gone viral with many social media users drawing parallels between a scene from an Allu Arjun-starrer and the ingenious smuggling modus operandi.

BSF Sub Inspector shot at by friend

A Sub Inspector of Border Security Force (BSF) suffered a gun-shot wound after a friend "accidentally" opened fire at him while they were moving on a car in the national capital's Najafgarh area.

The police said that as per preliminary inquiry, the man who opened fire was in an inebriated condition.

Fire erupts in 8th floor flat in Mumbai high-rise; none hurt

A fire broke out on Sunday in a flat located on the eighth floor of a 22-storey building at Byculla in Mumbai, a civic official said. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident. The incident occurred at 5.18 pm at the ground plus 22-storey "The Baya Victoria" building, located on Hans Road in Byculla (west) in central Mumbai, he said. As the nearly 100-metre-tall Supertech twin towers were razed to the ground on Sunday, doctors said people living nearby, especially those suffering from respiratory diseases, should take extra care and avoid the area for a few days if possible.

The doctors said most dust particles are 5 microns or less and can remain suspended in the air for a few days in the absence of favourable meteorological conditions like strong winds and rain.Massive dust pollution can lead to itching in the eyes, nose and skin; coughing, sneezing, breathing difficulty, lung infection, nasal congestion, asthmatic attacks and aggravate heart problems, they said.

The evacuation of two housing societies near the soon-to-be-demolished twin towers of Supertech was nearing completion, officials said Sunday morning. The evacuation of around 5,000 residents of Emerald Court and ATS Village societies was scheduled to be completed by 7 am. Most of the residents have already moved out, many of them last evening itself, police officials overseeing the evacuation exercise said around 7:15 am. "The evacuation is nearing completion," an official said.
While the residents, their vehicles and pets had to be moved out by 7 am, private security and other staff will also be removed from the two societies by 1 pm, the officials added.
The demolition of the two illegally built towers is scheduled for 2:30 pm.
