Despite taking anti-rabies injections and undergoing medical treatment after the dog attack, the boy could not survive.

The 14-year-old boy, identified as Nitin, was returning home from his school when he was bitten by the dog. The scary incident took place on June 16.

Soon, the boy was rushed to a nearby healthcare for medical attention. The family ensured that Nitin was administered with anti-rabies injection to save him from danger.

However, days later, the boy displayed shocking symptoms of the ailment, with body convulsions and involuntary face twisting.

Nitin was brought to the Rewa Medical College for doctors' assistance, only to learn that he could not be treated.

"His body was shivering, he was behaving like a dog," the NDTV reported quoting a close relative of the young dog attack victim.

Noting the teen was injected with anti-rabies dosage, the family is now questioning and holding the doctors responsible over the boy's tragic demise.

Rewa Collector Pratibha Pal informed the above media outlet that a probe has been ordered to look into the case.

It is worth mentioning that this isn't a one-off incident. Earlier reports stated that six persons -- two women and four men -- in the state mysteriously died despite rabies vaccine.

All animal attack victims were aged above 40 and the incidents were reported between May 23 to June 2.
