Chaos ensued at the Madhya Pradesh Global Investor Summit held in Bhopal which concluded on February 25. A viral video showed a large crowd fighting over plates of food at the conference.

The conference was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the two-day conference, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 30.77 lakh crore were signed. Union Home Minister Amit Shah speaking at the concluding session of the conference said the Global Investors Summit (GIS) organised by the Madhya Pradesh government will play a crucial role in accomplishing the dream of making India the third largest economy by 2027, and a developed nation by 2047.

However, what caught the internet's attention were the chaotic scenes that unfolded during lunch at the conference.

People were seen pushing each other, snatching plates, breaking queues over plates of puri and sabzi. In the mayhem, furniture and cutlery were damaged as seen in the video.

The viral video has sparked a debate online over whether the incident was due to poor event planning or desperation among the attendees.

While some social media users mocked the situations, others were quick to point out that the event was attended by top industrialists and political leaders of the country. Others urged for better planning to prevent such incidents.

One user on X commented, “This rush by fake “investors" to grab the free lunch at the MP Investor Summit sadly reminds me of how many lawyers rush for the food stalls at Bar Functions."

Another quipped, “Urban dehaatism on display at the MP Investors Summit. Soon, Netas and Babus will be fighting for their share of the commission."

“I have attended various summits, but these scenes from the Global Investors Summit in MP are quite interesting… Everyone is fighting for lunch," wrote another user.
