Alirajpur Superintendent of Police Rajesh Vyas said a case under section 109 (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered against Pushpraj Patel, son of Congress MLA Sena Patel, in connection with the incident.

Two constables were on patrolling duty near a bus stand on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday when the SUV allegedly driven by Pushpraj Patel sped towards them, Vyas told PTI.

He said the two cops suffered injuries in the incident.

Another official said that a video of the incident, which surfaced on social media on Monday, shows the SUV speeding towards the two constables standing next to a police jeep, and they manage to save themselves in the nick of time by jumping out of the way.
