On the occasion of his 61st birthday on Sunday, Shinde, who is the Shiv Sena chief leader and Deputy Chief Minister flagged off specially-made chariots in his bastion of Thane.

While Chanda is in Chandrapur, Banda is in Sindhudurg - and covers the entire state.

The programme has been finalised by Shinde’s son Dr Shrikant Shinde, who is Kalyan MP and Shiv Sena parliamentary party leader and Yuva Sena chief Parvesh Sarnaik, Yuva Sena chief secretary Rahul Londhe and Yuva Senna secretary Kiran Sali.

A total of 40 chariots have been prepared for this campaign.

“The objective of this tour is to expand Shiv Sena's organizational reach, strengthen Yuva Sena, and establish college units as the party aims to strengthen its presence in every village,” the Shiv Sena said.
