Just when the 12111 Amravati Express from Mumbai to Amravati was about to pass through the area, the driver of a truck lost control over the wheel and rammed the vehicle into a level-crossing gate, the official said.

Mumbai: In what could have been a potential disaster and tragedy, a speeding train dashed a truck that had illegally crossed a level-crossing and came to the tracks and dragged it for some distance in the Jalgaon district of Maharashtra in the wee hours of Friday.
The accident took place around 0430 hrs, reports reaching here said.
The accident involved the 12111 DN Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus - Amravati Super-Fast Express, popularly known as Amba Nagari Express.
The train hit a wheat-laden truck that broke down on the railway track at a level-crossing near the Bodwad station in Jalgaon in the Bhusawal division of the Central Railway.
The truck broke the barrier at the rail-road intersection and got stuck on the tracks. The driver got down and was seeking help when the train hit the truck, the official said.
The alert loco pilot had spotted the truck on the tracks and screeched to a halt.
The train engine got entangled into the truck.
No injuries have been reported from the accident.
The track restoration process was immediately undertaken and traffic is normal now after three to four hours of disruption.
