Dr Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, said“Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an unidentified person at his house. He was brought in at 3:00 am by his son Taimur Ali Khan along with their caretaker. He has 6 wounds by sharp objects like knife etc of which 2 wounds are deep and one close to his spine is identified. He is currently undergoing surgery.

On the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan, Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA) president Ashoke Pandit says, "The attack on film star Saif Ali Khan in his own house is a matter of concern. IFTDA condemns this attack. The concern is about the security of the building, the security agencies of the building, as to how an intruder reaches the 12th floor and enters the house, this is a matter of investigation, which the Mumbai Police is very competent and capable of looking into this matter."
NCP (SP) Lok Sabha member Supriya Sule on Thursday expressed concern over the attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan by an intruder at his home in Mumbai and termed the incident as "worrisome".

Saif Ali Khan's team issued an official statement; saying, "Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery and the doctors are monitoring his progress. All family members are safe and the police is investigating the incident."
Maharashtra Congress chief spokesperson, Atul Londhe Patil says, "The law and order situation in Maharashtra has completely collapsed. There is pressure from the government on the administration. There is political interference.
This is a sheer failure of the Home Minister and the government. Political interference should stop immediately. If the Chief Minister is very busy then the Home Ministry should be given to an independent competent minister."
Jr NTR and Chiranjeevi were among those shocked by the attack on Saif Ali Khan at his home in Mumbai with several people, including Pooja Bhatt, questioning lawlessness in the city and saying she has never felt so unsafe.
The actor, who was injured after the intruder attacked him with a knife at around 2.30 am on Thursday at his Bandra home, was hospitalised and underwent surgery.
Jr NTR, who recently shared screen space with Saif in Telugu hit "Devara", posted on X, "Shocked and saddened to hear about the attack on Saif sir. Wishing and praying for his speedy recovery and good health."
Chiranjeevi wrote, "Deeply Disturbed by news of the attack by an intruder on #SaifAliKhan. Wishing and praying for his speedy recovery."
Actor and BJP MP Ravi Kishan, who worked with Saif on films such as "Agent Vinod" and "Bullet Raja", said the incident is saddening.
"He's my friend and co-actor... Government and police administration is working to nab the culprits. The culprit will be caught soon, Mumbai police has a good reputation. He'll be given strict punishment. Security of actors should be given importance. I pray to lord that Saif recovers soon," Kishan told PTI.
Meanwhile, Bhatt tagged Mumbai Police in a post and questioned the "lawlessness" in the city, which is home to several celebrities as well as top industrialists, .
"Can this lawlessness please be curbed @MumbaiPolice @CPMumbaiPolice We need more Police presence in Bandra. The city & especially the queen of the subburbs, have never felt so unsafe before," she said.

NCP (SP) spokesperson Clyde Crasto said the attack on Saif Ali Khan was a cause for concern because if such high-profile people with security can be attacked in their homes, then what would happen to common citizens.
After leaving Saif Ali Khan's residence in Bandra, Mumbai Forensic official said, "We are from the fingerprint department, and we have successfully collected fingerprints. The next steps in the process will be decided by our seniors."
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari says, "I came to know that some thief attacked him and because of this he got injured. First of all, I pray to God that he gets well soon. He is a very good artist of our country. I will talk to Kareena. I am already in touch with the family."
Mamata Banerjee took to X( formerly Twitter) and said, "It’s very concerning to hear about the attack on noted actor Saif Ali Khan.
"I pray for his speedy recovery, trusting that the law will take its course and those responsible will be held accountable. My thoughts and prayers are with Sharmila Di, Kareena Kapoor, and the entire family during this difficult time."
On the health condition of Actor Saif Ali Khan, Dr Nitin Dange of Lilavati Hospital says," Saif Ali Khan was admitted to the hospital at 2 am with alleged history of assault by some unknown person.
"He sustained a major injury to the thoracic spinal cord due to a lodged knife in the spine. A surgery was performed to remove the knife and repair leaking spinal fluid. Two other deep wounds on his left hand and one other on his neck were repaired by the plastic surgery team. He is completely stable now. He is recovering well and out of danger now."

DCP Dixit Gedam said that the accused has used fire escape to enter the Saif Ali Khan's house, as of now it appears to be a burglary attempt.

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan on Thursday underwent a surgery at a hospital in Mumbai to remove a knife from his spine after he was repeatedly stabbed by an intruder at his home, and is now "out of danger", doctors said.
Speaking to reporters, Lilavati Hospital's Chief Operating Officer (COO) Dr Niraj Uttamani said, "We removed a 2.5-inch piece of knife from the spine."
"We wish to inform you that fortunately Saif Ali Khan's surgery has been done very well. He is on the recovery path. He has been shifted to the ICU. Maybe in a day or two he will be shifted to the ward," Dr Uttamani told reporters.
The injuries were deep, however, doctors at the hospital managed to do the surgery well, he said, adding that a neurosurgery and a plastic surgery have been performed.
"Khan is looking fine and is on 100 per cent recovery path as per our initial understanding," Dr Uttamani said.
"Khan is completely stable now. He is in recovery mode and is completely out of danger. We will shift him out of the ICU tomorrow morning and maybe plan a discharge in a day or two," he added.

The sharp knife with which Saif Ali Khan was attacked during the robbery attempt was lodged in his spine - prompting an immediate complex surgery for his safe removal from the actor’s body on Thursday.
Mumbai Police have released the accused’s CCTV image captured on the sixth floor of Saif Ali Khan’s house.
Actor Urvashi Rautela said, "...It is very unfortunate...This creates an insecurity that anybody can attack us. What happened is very unfortunate...All my prayers are with them (Saif Ali Khan and his family)."

If someone can go to the 11th floor of a residential building of a big actor and attack him at night, it shows that Mumbai is no longer safe for anyone... Even Baba Siddiqui was shot dead... Actor Kareena Kapoor has issued fresh statement on Saif Ali Khan's stabbing on Thursday.
She posted on Instagram: "It has been an incredibly challenging day for our family, and we are still trying to process the events that have unfolded. As we navigate this difficult time, I respectfully and humbly request that the media and paparazzi refrain from the relentless speculation and coverage. While we appreciate the concern and support, the constant scrutiny and attention are not only overwhelming but also pose a significant risk to our safety. A staff nurse at the house of actor Saif Ali Khan, who was attacked by an unidentified intruder early Thursday morning, recounted the horrifying incident in her statement to the police and said the man demanded Rs 1 crore when confronted.
The intruder first entered the room of Saif and Kareena Kapoor-Khan's younger son Jeh, said Eliyama Philip, the complainant in the case.
